5 Reasons why you shouldn’t believe the NEWS!

Here’s my take on the 5 most sensational news I have heard/seen in the past couple of days…

Myth 1: Raju ran to US or Dubai to escape from law.

Reality: Even an LKG kid would know that we have excellent relations with both US and Dubai. Extradition of any person wanted by law is pretty easy in such cases.

Myth 2: The firm doesn’t have cash to pay the salaries.

Reality: If the journalist did understand English properly, this news would have never become such a sensation. Ram Mynampati did agree that there is financial crunch in the company and they are in talks with some banks about this, but that doesn’t mean the above stated. Desperate times demand out of the box thinking. And in the process, it leads to certain amount of sacrifices as well…

Myth 3: The company will go bankrupt…

Reality: With increasingly large number of clients either retaining their projects or expressing solidarity, bankruptcy cannot be confirmed as of now. Of course, it’s an impending danger, the answer to which will be out in the coming days.

Myth 4: – 10000 employees maybe axed in the next one month

Reality: No one knows what would be magnitude! A prediction like this does add fuel to the fire and is bound to increased panic among the employees. Instead of making such sensational statements, I earnestly appeal to people busy in slandering and libeling, to either understand the situation at the bottom of the pyramid or if you can’t do that, go fly kites!

Myth 5: Media did a fantastic job in exposing the irregularities.

Reality: Give me a Break!!! You cannot consider yourself the Indian versions of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein’s (of Watergate Scandal fame)! Nobody had a clue what was going on behind the scene and neither did you. And instead of filling 5-6 pages of your esteemed newspapers with every possible news related to Satyam and minting money selling those, it’s time to concentrate on the overall picture of Indian Corporate Governance. Who knows what other skeletons are hidden in the closet…maybe your own as well…:P

But at the end of the day, I am a firm believer that no one should escape the crime committed. And I hope, the truth about truth is laid before all of us…before we forget the difference between the lies and the truth!

Justice Shall Prevail…
